How Groupage & Partial Load Transport Works

Less-than-truckload (LTL) or groupage transport is the most cost-effective way to ship smaller consignments on international routes. Instead of paying for an entire truck, your cargo shares space with other shippers' goods on the same vehicle. Fin Partner organises regular groupage departures between Serbia and key EU destinations so you can ship as little as a single pallet at competitive rates.

Our groupage network covers the main freight corridors from Serbia to Germany, Austria, the Netherlands, and Hungary, with regular weekly departures. Goods are collected from your warehouse, consolidated at our hub, loaded onto long-distance vehicles, and delivered to the final destination. The entire process is coordinated by our team with full visibility for you at every stage.

One common concern with groupage is cargo safety. Fin Partner addresses this by working exclusively with carriers who use load-securing equipment (straps, anti-slip mats, edge protectors) and by physically separating different consignments within the trailer. Goods are handled carefully at every consolidation point, and we carry full CMR insurance for every shipment.

Transit times for LTL shipments are slightly longer than FTL because of the consolidation and deconsolidation steps. On our busiest corridors (e.g. Serbia–Germany), typical groupage transit is 3–5 working days from collection to delivery. We work continuously to optimise consolidation schedules to minimise waiting times without compromising cost efficiency.

LTL groupage is ideal for businesses that ship regularly but in smaller volumes — for example, 1–8 euro pallets per week. Many of our clients use groupage for regular replenishment shipments, spare parts deliveries, e-commerce fulfilment, and sample shipments to new markets.

Pricing for groupage is based on weight, volume (loading metres), and the route. We provide transparent quotes with no hidden fees. For clients with regular shipments, we offer contracted rates that provide even greater value.
